These pictures were all over the blogosphere a while back, but I came across them in my inspiration files the other day and couldn't resist sharing them here. They feel really fresh and bright - perfect for the gray weather we've been having. The best part is that this entire one-bedroom apartment - home to Canadian House & Home designer and blogger Michael Penney and his wife Sara - was done on a budget. I love the fresh turquoise, white and brown throughout.

Ikea bookshelves put together with MDF look like custom built-ins. Great idea!


Love the all-white fireplace and the cool mirror above it. Wish I knew where that mirror was from!
