Welcome to March! I can't believe February flew by so fast. It always does. Tons of holidays, my birthday, and boatloads of snow: they all add up to a fast-moving month. But now we're officially into March, the Olympic games are over, and I'm hoping this month gets to the "out like a lamb" part faster than the "in like a lion" part lasts. Happy March, y'all!

Picturing the past 10 years

As the decade draws to a close (gulp), this chart is a funny way to take a look back at some of the fascinators from the past 10 years. Can you believe "I.M." was a new verb in 2000 and "download" was in 2002? Wow. I suddenly feel really old.

Thank goodness it's...Friday the 13th?

Initially I was a bit freaked out that today is Friday the 13th, but why not turn that idea on its head and be happy about it instead? I mean, no need to be all superstitious about something that may or may not be completely bunk. Then again, I am kinda freaked out about getting bad luck (we don't need any more of that around these parts), so I don't want to jinx myself. Here's hoping that everyone has a good day and nothing unlucky happens!

Magic calendar

This "ink calendar" is absolutely amazing! Created by English artist Oscar Diaz, its numbers "print" from the ink bottle daily to not only show the days of that month, but also actually marking the passing of time. And, each month has a different ink color which corresponds with the temperate and weather of that month. December is dark blue, spring brings shades of green and summer is shades of red. Seaside cloth calendar

I've seen some lovely photos from the National Stationery Show and particularly liked this cloth calendar from Linea Carta. Love the beachy feel (those seahorses look quite familiar, no?) and the casual yet chic sensibility. This would be great as a gift (newlyweds, new parents [perhaps mark a baby's birth date before giving], for mom, etc.) or hanging above your own desk. Even if you're miles away from the beach, this calendar has that shipwreck look that might make you feel as if it had washed up on a shore somewhere and you cleverly found it.
