Eunice Kennedy Shriver, 1921-2009 (bottom right in photo)
Just wanted to put up a quick post about the death of Eunice Kennedy Shriver yesterday. The founder of the Special Olympics, the former director of the Peace Corps, a graduate of Stanford University and mother to five (including CA first lady Maria Shriver), she was considered "the most intellectual...of all the Kennedy women" (as noted in a 1960 Chicago Tribune profile of the Kennedy family) and fun: she had a trampoline installed on their lawn in France when her husband was ambassador there and even invited diplomats to bounce on it. My condolences to the family.
